Ferry booking for unaccompanied trailers
Keep your own ferry contracts, or let us book the Calais–Dover crossing and the return sailing for you, timed around the UK delivery slot.
- Calais–Dover
- Outbound and return
- Timed to delivery
- One point of contact
How it works
- You tell us the trailer, the load date and the UK delivery slot.
- We book a sailing that gets the trailer to Dover in time for collection.
- We match the booking to the GMR and transit references.
- After delivery we book the return sailing you need, empty or loaded.
If you prefer to book yourself, just send us the booking reference and sailing time and we plan the collection around it.
Questions hauliers ask
Who books the ferry?
Either you or us. Many hauliers keep their own ferry contracts and simply send us the booking. If you prefer, we book the Calais–Dover crossing and the return for you.
Do you return the trailer to Dover?
Yes. After delivery we bring your trailer back to Dover, empty or with a return load if you have one, ready for the sailing you choose.
Do I need a GMR for an unaccompanied trailer?
Goods entering Great Britain through Dover need a Goods Movement Reference (GMR) from HMRC's Goods Vehicle Movement Service. For unaccompanied trailers it is normally created by whoever arranges the crossing. We can create and manage the GMR for you, or check yours before the trailer sails.
